Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre invites local high school seniors to apply for the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association $1,000 Scholarship, which will be awarded to one high school graduating senior in St. John Parish.
This program is sponsored by the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program to provide assistance to Louisiana students in furthering their education and training at an in-state school.
To be eligible for the scholarship:
• Applicants must be permanent residents of Louisiana and reside in St. John Parish.
• Money must be utilized in higher education within Louisiana.
• Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student.

Completed applications must be turned in by April 1, 2026 via email to [email protected] or in person at the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, 1801 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, LA. 70069.
Application Process
- Apply for admission to UNO: uno.edu/admissions
- Priority deadline: March 1, 2026
- Submit the FAFSA by February 15, 2026
- Complete the supplemental scholarship application, which requires:
- A description of educational plans and chosen major
- A summary of career goals
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer

🎓 REV Academic Scholarship Applications Are Now Open!
REV has opened its annual academic scholarship application early, giving graduating high school seniors the opportunity to apply now through February 11.
Eligible students living in REV’s service areas can apply online for scholarship support that helps cover college expenses, including tuition, housing, books, and more.
For more than 42 years, REV has invested in local students—awarding over $1 million in scholarships to graduating seniors across South Louisiana. In 2025, the program expanded to include all REV service regions, opening the door for even more students to apply.
📌 Eligibility includes:
• Being a current REV residential customer in good standing
• Residency within a REV service area
• Academic performance, leadership, community involvement, and financial need
• Completion of an essay
